How come circulated Barber Halves are PCGS sheet price static

When in reality ,the keys and nice F-XF seem to be very hot
and if nice and original, sell well over sheet prices?

Maybe so that those sellers who have FUGLY semi-keys and keys (which is 95% of the mid-grade Barbers), don't get the wrong impression and think that their coins are worth the premiums.

I briefly scanned the May Greysheet last week and both Barber dimes and halves were posting pluses for many dates in the middle and upper circ grades. I recall a similar widespread jump for the halves earlier this year as well.
Prices are still well below what the real fanatics are paying for original pieces, but with all due respect to Mr. Bear, I would not call them 'sheet price static'. They are among the few series on the sheets showing signs of life.

I just completed my VF Half set today.

The PCGS price guide was about as helpful as a rutabaga in judging market pricing for these coins.
