Post something made with coins.....

I have been collecting things made with coins for about 8 years now. Even though I do not like the fact that some of these coins were once collectible, I do find it fascinating that people actually bought these things as souvenirs from the various countries that they visited. What do you have to add?image

Here is the coolest one I have, even though I am still not sure what Papal State it is from.

Probably 20 years ago, I purchased a common roman denarius with a loop for $15 which was purloined by my daughter. She continues to wear it a lot and has had many many complements from non-collectors about it. No pic since its in OKC, but there follows a couple of which I have pix...

Papal medal of Pius IX commemorating the 1856 opening of the Vatican railroad turned into a watch fob. I purchased this from a vet who liberated it from an SS man during the Battle of the Bulge.

BTW, your spoon is made from a 1796 Papal testone of Pius VI attributed to the Rome mint.

I really don't know what this is. It appears to be made of a coin or medal, but what purpose did the "ears" at 3:00 and 9:00 serve?

Wow, Thanks! Is it a coin or a medal?

Very nice things, guys! It is funny how most of these items were used for different artistic reasons, but you have to wonder WHY any particular coin or token was chosen for said object. I have a friend Johnny Swing from Brookline, Vermont who makes high end artistic furniture out of US coins. I am contemplating commissioning a piece solely out of foreign coins, but it will be small. Here is a link of his stuff(and no this is NOT an advertisement, and no he is NOT a numismatist, but an artist).image
