    by the first Obv. pic I would have said it was lightly cleaned. The other pics make it look better.

    Based on the 2nd and 4th pics it looks pretty nice...based on the 1st and 3rd it looks cleaned and gross. Let's hope the 2nd and 4th are accurate.

    Looks AU55/58 to me mostly because of the different shading in the first image and the hits.

    What kind of holder is that in? Top pic makes it appear lightly polished or whizzed; like everyone else, I agree the second pic doesn't look as bad.

    The 1895-S is a sleeper coin - and although I think this particular coin
    has Altered Surfaces - I'd need the coin in hand to make an accurate
    determination.

    If you own the coin - crack it out - stick it in a Dansco for a dozen years
    and see what it looks like then...image...probably like my Dimes...

    The first image seems muted when compared to the second, which shows a lot of vertical hairlines, a nasty mark on the zygomatic area (high cheekbone) and luster vs the first which deceptively makes the fields look cleaner.

    The third image also is muted and fourth shows the luster and incredible detail.

    Maybe it's just because I only collect XF and below, but that Barber looks like they used a Sledgehammer for the strike as the details are incredible!

    I'd say definitely MS coin on details, but wiped /cleaned on the obverse, no sign of cleaning on the reverse from the images.
    Do your best to avoid circular arguments, as it will help you reason better, because better reasoning is often a result of avoiding circular arguments.
