GSNA Show Report

I attented the yearly three day Garden State Numismatic Association show yesterday. This show offers a very nice variety of coins from early american copper, US Medals, and of course all US coins. There was a very very wide selection of coins at the show. I cant think of any type I did not see. There were many PCGS Genuine holders than I am used to seeing. Some very nice PQ coins were in the holders. One example was a Flowing Hair Dollar in about XF 40 with nice album toning that wasn't graded for QT. Many early Turban Head $5 and $10 gold pieces. It also seems that many dealers are starting to carry more raw coins than slabs due to TPG's not giving grades due to various reasons. There is a change coming in the coin collecting market from what I saw. This is a great show to attend as it offers a wide variety of coins and exonumia. The cafe/kitchen also has great food which is rare for some coin shows!
Oddly enough, the floor traffic at this show for the last few years has been a bit slow. Speaking to dealers, they said that the same business is done at the one day Parsippany show as compared to this three day show. My main objective at this show was to sell a few coins, and to pick up a few medals, and a nice bust half. I sold more than half of the coins I brought including some toners and some early halves. My purchases included a Bronze Panama Pacific Medal, a very cool Abe Lincoln paperweight, and a toned 1836 Bust Half I needed for my date set.
A few of the forum members that I met were SeaEagleCoins, Dave G, and Andy Lustig. My three newps are pictured below.
Bronze Pan-American Medal. It has some issues, and I plan to send it to NCS.

1836 Bust Half with nice toning, but very hard to photograph due to the NGC Slab. AU 58.

You really like the 1901 Pan-American medals.
I like them also! Nice pick up.

Commems and Early Type
About a week ago, I saw a thread asking who is going to GSNA. Not being from the east coast, I wondered what in the world is GSNA?
Geek Society National Assembly ?...... Gainesville Society of Nazi-Americans ?...... Gun Show Near Anaheim ?..... Greater Sacramento Nerd
Association?
Next year, I will be wiser.
