Upload avatar help (image sizing)

Will some kind soul please reveal how to compress images for the upload icon thingy? It's up and running, but my image is 80k and needs to be 10k I think. Please help me change this sad NY Mets logo.

Down load your image to photobucket and compress....

ive done the photobucket thing to post pics, does it work the same way: copy and past the link from the forums section? And thanks for the quick help.

Down load the image you want as your avatar, then resize your image to 100X100 "small" . Now you can go ahead and copy and paste to your forum sight. Hope this helps....Joe

Thanks you guys, for all the help. I need to learn how to do that one day.
For those interested, this is a 1968-d DDR lincoln cent. Nice doubling on entire reverse, especially "AMERICA" which you probably cant see on the avatar. Just wanted a nice patriotic image for memorial day and beyond.
