Because it's not certified. Raw examples don't get anywhere near CV for these proofs and only a few people manage to get anywhere near CV even when they are certified. Prices for non-certified Aussie coins on the Australia Ebay are not strong.

How do you get a coin certified in Australia? I'm not aware of any TPG's operating here although I would like to know if there are, wan't to get some of my coins certified but would be too complicated to send them to America.

There are no local TPGs here; the only two serious attempts I'm aware of both failed due to lack of consumer demand. The Australian coin market simply isn't big enough to sustain a genuinely neutral TPG. The only recognised TPG outside of North America is CGS in Britain, and they only certify British coins; the only "Australian" coins they'd touch would be Imperial-style gold. For predec proofs, your only option is shipping 'em off to America.
<< <i> Why do you think this coin did not receive any bids? Photos look okay to me. >>
I agree the pics are clear enough, though being scans they perhaps don't show the coin as pleasing as it actually is in hand. Additional factors to explain why nobody bid: (a) the high starting bid (which often scares people away) and (2) a relatively unknown seller.
Personally, I'm not too confident of the American TPGs being able to consistently tell the difference between Proof and Unc predecimals, though I'd have more confidence in PCGS than in the competition. I've seen NGC-slabbed "proof coins" for years in which no proof coins of that type were struck.

I've sent many coins to PCGS now, it's not that complicated but the turn-around is a little slow. PCGS are pretty good at picking pre-decimal proofs, the copper proofs of the late 50's/60's are pretty easy to spot anyway.

Looks good, didn't get my bid because I didn't see it.
Brilliant copper (1957 (some) and later year Perth issues) proofs are ok raw, if they've been cleaned it'll be obvious in any decent photo. Other coppers and silver I'd only buy slabbed or if I can view them in hand because they could easily be cleaned and photographed in a way they'd look natural.
Yea, I asked him to relist it so I could bid. Probably too much money for me to spend right now, but I sure like these coins. I figure I'll bid 1 d 1958(p) proof RAW.
There are a couple of others that ARE in PCGS plastic that closed recently from another seller. Too rich for my pocketbook. Here are the links:

Apparently I have been awarded the DPOTD twice.
