Pretty nice redemption replacement from Upper Deck...

I submitted a redemption for a Giants rookie named Alex Hinshaw. This is what the card was supposed to look like:

I talked to their customer service a few months ago and they said that they didn't expect Hinshaw to ever return the autos (given that the MLBPA has asked their players NOT to return autos to UD, I see why). So, I agreed to a replacement, and they sent this:

Pretty nice upgrade. image I would have been perfectly happy with the Hinshaw auto, as it would have been his only autographed rookie card from 2008, but since I don't own a Panda autograph, this fits nicely in my collection. It's also an on-card auto, not a sticker auto like UD usually uses.

Is it just me, or does Panda look a lot heavier today than he does in that picture. As a die hard fan, that guy's conditioning is very, very concerning...

He spends 30 min on the treadmill after every game.

The 2009 media guide said he weighed 246. However, at the start of spring training, they said he showed up weighing 262, and praised him for loosing 15 off his 2009 playing weight. If that info is to believed, then he weighed 277 in 2009, not the 246 they claimed.

The shocking thing is that on the back of his 2006 Bowman card, it has his weight listed as 180.

I think Panda ate Benji Molina...

I realize he's a switch hitter, but it appears obvious that he eats with both hands, too...

I'll say it's an upgrade. From a $3-4 card to a $40-50 card. Well done!

From a prospect to a star, not a bad trade off.

Believe it or not, but Panda's actually stolen 2 bases this year. He's a big guy, but he's got some speed. Not like Bengie.

    Here's a wackey fact.

Bengie has stolen 3 bases in his 13 year career (his last steal happened in 2006).
Pablo has stolen 7 in his 3 year career.
