Flyers - Bruins Game 7

In Boston Friday night. Boston won the first three games. Flyers have won the next three. Doesn't happen
too often that a team loses the first three, and then sweeps four in a row.

Flyers have their best goalie Leighton back between the pipes after an injury. Having Simon Gagne back helps them too.
Bruins must be feeling a bit of the pressure.

Anyway, it feels like the mid-70's again, with the winner of the Flyers-Bruins playing the Canadiens for the right to play for the Stanley Cup.

Black Hawks being still kicking adds to the nostalgia. Too bad the Red Wings couldn't handle the Sharks or we could have an original 6 affair.

I like the way things are playing out. But I'm nervous about those Flyers.

    Go Bruins.

What a game. What a series. Just happy my Flyers came through with the victory. I almost had several heart attacks in the third period.

    Suck it Boston. image
  • Could be the biggest choke job of all time. Up 3-0 in the series, and up 3-0 at home in game 7.

Yes, it was the biggest choke job of all time.

Not the biggest choke job by any stretch. The Bruins barely made the playoffs. This is the kind of team they were all year. They'd win a few, then lose a few. Yankees of 2004 or Red Sox of 1986 were down to the final pitch to win championships (not early round playoff series) and let them slip away. Much worse. And I still think Greg Norman's major gaggage to Nick Faldo has to rank above this by far.

Can't compare this series with Yanks choke in '04...not even close, and it's not even debatable as SteveK likes to say...image

Plain and simple, this series turned when the Bruins lost Krejci and the Flyers got Gagne back. If Krejci didn't get injured, the B's sweep....I think if both those guys were healthy the entire series, it still would have went 7, just the wins woutd have alternated instead of 3 straight then 4 straight.
