So I see David Lawrence has a new website...

....looks pretty cool, but then I discovered you have to log in to view large images of each coin....
Edited: It appears that John Feigenbaum has responded to this thread and promised to make some changes to the website. I certainly applaud him for responding to our concerns

I agree. There is now a cute "magnifier lens" you can move about a smaller image to see detail but really...a bigger, static photo is so much better.
Just because you can do it doesn't make it better.

Indeed. I'd rather see everything big at once, rather than putz around to make sections big at a time. This is very hard/annoying to use, and it over complicates what should be an easy task--and an essential one at that. I'm also not a fan of logging in because it's just a minor hassle; when I'm ready to buy/watch something, I'll log in.
I like the ease of using the site - and I am tracking a few things -
and I'd have to log in anyway if I wanted to track. Its a minor
inconvenience to log on, that's true, but its no big deal.
I liked the larger images of the old site as well.

Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !

The use of Flash also prevents folks from easily saving the images. I prefer to save images of the coins that I purchase... I guess for future purchases I'll have to take a screenshot instead.
A more modern solution that doesn't require Flash is something like Lightbox
The "selector" bar at the top is nice, though I wish each item in the "Series" menu appeared on just one line, instead of wrapping to the next line.

If a dealer is going to ask "aggressive prices" for coins, please allow potential customers to see the entire coin in a large image.
offers me a way to zoom in focus on the part of the coin I want to see most. But I certainly understand that folks would like to see the
biggest image possible. I am certain we can accommodate everyone and the change will be made in the next 24 hours.
Because this new web site is a complete rewrite of the user interface of the old site, I expected there would be issues to be fixed and
addressed. The good news is...we are very quick to hear your comments and make the appropriate changes.
Thanks again and please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

We will address the error searches next. This got dropped in the conversion.

I'll add that I have purchased 2 or 3 coins from David Lawrence and was treated very well.

Why is having to log in to see the highest-resolution pictures a a big deal? That's the way Heritage operates and I don't see anyone slamming them for that policy.

DLRC has had an auction archive for quite a while. So, I guess you'll be logging in.

i will log on and enjoy their coins
Based on your feedback, we have changed the coin viewing page on the web site to show the larger images WITHOUT requiring a login. I just noticed a typo on the screen that says "log in to see larger images" but if you click that button, or scroll down, you will see the larger images.
Here's an example of a sample view coin screen.
Thanks again for the feedback. It helps us build the best web site possible!
