Slightly OT: Stanley Cup Playoff Giveaways

Was pondering this while waiting to see who the Sharks will be playing next image

The Sharks have had a couple of giveaways during the playoffs - First game orange t-shirts were passed out (some clueless PR person wanted to turn the Tank into a "sea of orange" when there is hardly any orange in the team's color scheme). Then the usual white pom-poms, then a white t-shirt with a years old slogan and a giant ad for Symantec on the back (yeah, I know it's a sponsored giveaway).

Just curious if and what other fans in other cities are getting.

Anyone else's team still alive! I'm obviously stoked...

I'm afraid I haven't been to a B's game at the Garden since I moved to Chicago 15 years ago. Nothing better than fatties in #77 jerseys begging for Knickerbocker talls at Sully's tap.

Let's see, one game as the Gahden would cost me and my kid the same amount as a half season of front row seats in Manchester watching the Monarchs. Seeing where most of the Bruins have played in Providence the last couple years anyway we are seeing almost the same quality play (alot of times better), for 95% less.

Monarchs haven't done anything major for giveaways yet, but they may. They start the conference finals in Hershey tomorrow night. They come home for games 3, 4, 5 next week.

They did give away their jerseys at the last regular season home game, and we won for the 2nd year in a row!

The Blackhawks give out red towels and beatdowns of Western Conference opposition are also free.

I've been to two Bruins playoff games - the clincher against Buffalo and the OT playoff opener win vs the Flyers. They are giving out a Boston Bruins towel. Very nice logo of the brown bear. Of course, Jacobs couldn't help himself and had to also ruin it with a large Dunkin Donuts logo running the lengtht of the towel. You just can't change an old, cheap dog.

Don't get me going on Jacobs. The last Bruins game I went to was the Winter Classic and they were nic enough to giveaway seat cushions and towels.

Thank you for the picture props, Kyle likes seeing himself posted too. Here is last years pic, he is still holding the un-opened envelope which had our player's name in it:

And the other version, after getting the jersey is still on the Monarchs website, his Nana has the full sized original:

And this years presentation of the jersey. Our guy was a scratch that night, so the jersey was clean and dry, but shows nice use from previous games. Last year's shirt was cold and wet.

That's amazing you've won two years running. I've been to every Sharks fan appreciation game for 19 years and I don't think we've even had a winner in our section. Got a question though - most hockey jerseys have lots of repairs - from skate cuts usually. Did the jerseys you get look like they'd just been used for that game or did they look like they'd been through a season of use.

I'm pretty sure the Sharks wear the jerseys only for the FA game, so they've been used exactly once.

Last year they were the black, Sunday jerseys, but showed OK use. This year they wore the road purples, worn more often than the blacks, they showed even better use. Certainly not one game wonders! They do replace some throughout the year but they had been worn for a couple months in most cases.
