You know the market's getting hot when....

I remember reading numerous posts here on ways "you know the market is getting up there for PMs". I'd like to share two of mine I just came across in the last couple weeks.

In a very small suburb of where I live, there was a vacuum repair shop with big signs to guy gold and silver!

Today, next to a Goodwill was a little storage rental space that also had a sign saying "We buy junk/broken gold and jewelry". How bad does it have to get as everyone and their mother is getting in on the PM gig?

I'm guessing you were not around in 1978 & 79?

To add to your post. I was going down highway 4*1. A old ram shackled trailer/mobile home had a "We buy gold & silver" out front.

I personally would not have even stopped to ask directions at such a place(big dogs, junk piled out front etc.)

I actually took my mom and dad to a place in '79 or '80 so they could sell their junk gold and sterling. Guy behind the counter laughed when my parents asked my opinion about the prices. Until I told them to walk and he upped them 40%. I was 11. image

I've said for a long time that what will send the price of gold skyrocketing is when the public gets the idea that the metal is the thing, if it starts, watch out.

I had a family get together very recently where the discussion of gold (other than jewelry)
    came up several times.

The same discussions would not have happened say, 6 months or so ago.

    I disagree.

My wife asked three of her closest friends about Gold and they said they and their husbands did not invest in Gold.

I asked four of my golfing buddies and only one of them considered the benefits of gold investment.

    My Conclusion:

We still have a very long way to ride this PM bull cycle.

"“Those who sacrifice liberty for security/safety deserve neither.“(Benjamin Franklin)

I have a co-worker on the east coast that discusses stock market activity almost daily. I have been trying to convince him to buy metals as far back as three years ago when we first flew together. He still has not bought any. Just the other day he asked, "now how do I buy gold?" I must have told him 20 times already. It's as if he never heard me mention this before. He's pretty savvy when it comes to stocks but gold and silver....clueless. And this is from a man who prides himself putting his finger on the pulse of the market.

I think J6P is a long way away from entering the PM market.
