I want to trim some cards... who's good at it?

Just curious who is good enough to get trimmed cards past PSA and willing to admit it?

    More beer, more beer
All I want is more beer
    More beer, more beer
All I want is more beer, more beer

When I get home from work and I'm dyin' of thirst
All I want is more beer
I run into the kitchen and I tear off my shirt
All I want is more beer
Open up a six pack I'll be downin' it first
All I want is more beer
I can open up and finish faster than you
All I want is more beer
Gonna kill a case or maybe two
All I want is more beer
If there was no more beer then what would we do
All I want is more beer

    More beer
    More beer, more beer
All I want is more beer
    More beer, more beer
All I want is more beer, more beer

All I want is more beer
All I want is more beer
All I want is more beer

All I want is more beer
All I want is more beer
All I want is more beer

And when I wake up in the morning
My mouth's all parched and dry, parched and dry
And I crawl to the refrigerator
    And I peek inside
And I feel like somebody drove nails
    Into my head and eyes
And I'm hoping and I'm praying
I hope there's one more beer

    More beer, more beer
    More beer, more beer
    More beer, more beer
    More beer, more beer
    More beer, more beer
    More beer, more beer
    More beer, more beer

I suspect MANY folks are "good enough" to slip one by occasionally.

I suspect FEW folks - maybe none - are "good enough" to have a
    very high/profitable success rate.

Again, you miss the point that I've been trying to make to you for some time.

Your SGC suggestion was made because of something that you read in another thread. You shoot from the hip and run your mouth without knowing ANYTHING about what your posting. Once you realize the truth, you edit your posts to cover your tracks.

It will bear out that the thread that prompted your SGC comment was initiated by the person running the auction. The person is a known card doctor and is part of the underbelly that most wish not to discuss. However, you don't know this, would never take the time to learn this, but continue to post as if every thing you see or hear is the truth.

You've attempted to slam others as crooks, thieves and con artists only to be proven wrong in most cases.

I don't need to worry about growing up. I only speak about things that I KNOW! I don't shoot from the hip. If I am wrong, and I do my best to make certain that I am not, I don't edit or change my posts, but instead man-up and admit it and apologize to those that I may have thrown under the bus. It doesn't happen very often, but I will never run and hide from my opinion. While that may not make me the most popular person here, I do hope that it has earned me a little more respect than you've chosen to show me... Someday, maybe you'll earn that respect, too. You might start by learning when to talk and when to listen. It's the first step in becoming educated.

Definitely agreeing with Scott on what he said.

Why edit a post when it obviously had something you originally wanted to say?

I don't see the purpose of it.

Again, you miss the point that I've been trying to make to you for some time.

    -didn't miss the "point"

Your SGC suggestion was made because of something that you read in another thread.

exactly, it was a joke, hence - "grow up"

You shoot from the hip and run your mouth without knowing ANYTHING about what your posting.

absolutely false, however, I see this quite a bit with your comments directed to me - you will say ANYTHING about me, even though you're mostly wrong.

Once you realize the truth, you edit your posts to cover your tracks.

every edit I've EVER done is from taking advice from others or correcting typos.

It will bear out that the thread that prompted your SGC comment was initiated by the person running the auction.

I thought the same thing, however, I didn't say ANYTHING because I wanted to get my facts straight.

The person is a known card doctor and is part of the underbelly that most wish not to discuss.

...yet we talk about this sort of thing daily

    However, you don't know this,

    ...ok...

would never take the time to learn this,

    always have an open mind...

but continue to post as if every thing you see or hear is the truth.

I post when I get my facts straight.

You've attempted to slam others as crooks, thieves and con artists

    not true

only to be proven wrong in most cases.

    again, dead wrong.

I don't need to worry about growing up.

    good for you!

I only speak about things that I KNOW! I don't shoot from the hip. If I am wrong, and I do my best to make certain that I am not, I don't edit or change my posts, but instead man-up

I show you and everybody here respect... you've been on my case since day one, for NO reason whatsoever.

Someday, maybe you'll earn that respect, too. You might start by learning when to talk and when to listen. It's the first step in becoming educated.

Why don't you come here to talk cards instead of looking to throw swings at a select few when you're bored? It is a card forum, not a bashing to cure my boredom forum.

Sadly, your reply is filled with many false statements. But that is to be expected by someone that doesn't understand much of what they post. How can you be expected to be accountable when you're too ignorant to understand.

I haven't bashed you since day one, but when the shoe fits, I make sure that you wear it. And the reasons I have done so have been blatantly obvious as I'm quite sure most others are aware regardless of how much you wish to dismiss or camouflage it.

Perhaps you've missed the threads where I've posted about cards. Informative analysis and commentary is probably too boring for you as I'm not posting some ill contrived conspiracy or needlessly attacking some honest, unsuspecting seller. I seriously doubt that my nearly 3000 posts have been solely directed at swinging at a select few when I'm bored.

I won't rehash your history. It's well known despite your unwillingness to accept it. And your credibility and accuracy are found to be lacking far too often. Feel free to do some research and attack my credibility. Until then, I stand with what I've written and save the others from repeated commentary on your shortcomings.

otw - people are going to be wrong, but it is not your job to point out their mistakes. You remind me of those kids in literature class who studied a book already and blurt out during class discussion how another student's analysis is off base.

Also, I don't really understand you or your motives here, but I rarely see a thread started by you, instead I see you chime in here and there, mostly with good information, but when you disagree, man do you ever! It's like, geez, this guy must have a terrible life/hard time at work to where he has to log in at 1-3 AM and tell a novice collector (me) how great he is (you) and how he has all this experience, and friends, and posts to back him up. From your jabs, to your avatar, to your sig line, you really seem to need some reassurance in your life. Goodness gracious chill out man, leave me alone, quit replying to my posts unless you have something to add on topic PLEASE!

Yeah, get something that cuts with a straight-edge, don't do it by hand, and practice on a few junk cards.

Since the grading firms measure the cards, stay within the margin of error, and don't cut too deep or it'd get EOT every time.

Of course I've never tried any of this... just guessing.

LMAO... The most amazing quality of the Internet is that when folks can't think of anything witty, they need to find the lowest common denominator that they understand to alleviate their frustration in being unable to express themselves. That LCD is typically challenging one's manhood or resorting to some level of violence to attempt to emasculate.

Even funnier is when they miss the comical reference. The white flag is waving in fear and trepidation of being whooped by a television character. What's next, a Kenny, Kyle or Cartman could kick your azz reference?

FWIW Ms. Barbara passed away a little more than a month ago at age 80.

Romper Room had many hostesses over the years. In fact I worked for the widowed husband of one in the 90's.

My favorite though has to be the most recent one, Ms. Carol........

  • On second thought, just don't do it.

Given how little one can trim, the best one can hope for is to upgrade a PSA 7 to an 8 or 8.5. The downside is too high: the destruction of the card. Ain't worth it.

I get a sense of loss everytime I see on eBay some PSA 0 1951 Mantle that looks like it would've scored a '6' or so without trimming. Que lastima.
