Questions: Submitting proof coins..Regrades

Anybody got any special tips on submitting proof coins for grading?

I've been using pretty hard inert plastic flips and worry about developing scratches.

I'm not sure you can even use a soft sleeve for them or if soft flips might be a better way to do it.

Also....

I'm about to start a pretty big project in regrading quite a few coins in PCGS and sending the ones
with the best shot at an upgrade in.

I know a lot depends on how realistic you are how carefully you select the ones for regrade, but
does anyone have a success ratio/track record they're willing to share?

I'm thinking that if I'm careful/realistic 1 in 3 would be an attainable goal.

Any thoughts?

Thanks very much for any help......
No,no- the kids and the cat are all right honey.
It's just that I got my PCGS grades.

Why don't you just send them in for regerade and leave them in the PCGS plastic?
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • That's what I'm going to do Marty-on the regrades.

The holder question was about submitting raw proof coins.

I very carefully put them in saflips. Trying not to ever let the coin touch the edge of the flip!
