Best credit card to use for mint purchases?

BigEBigE Posts: 6,949 ✭✭✭
My CC company just tried to stick me with a 99.00 yearly fee, which I made them take off. It is for free hotel miles anyway so I am going to cancel it and go with a cash back one. Probably will try to do the direct ship dollar thing with the Mint and to do my civic duty to circulate a few and see peoples reactions when I spend themimage Who has the best cash back credit card? Whats in your wallet?---------BigE

    Pentagon Federal Platinum Rewards
    LINK

    5% Back on Gas
    2% back on the supermarket
    1.25% on everything else.

Intrest is pretty high (if you pay before the 30day grace after a statement = no cost) and it only has a 50k limit but thats plenty with the bonus payable at the end of every month as a credit off of your bill/ no limit or cap and with a increasingly rare full 30day grace on balances.

I like my Chase Master Card - 2% cashback. Discover Card has some good rebates. I fly my daughter from LA to Florida every Christmas with the miles I build up.

I would suggest you join a local credit union, preferrably one that has a great credit card rebate program. Kill two birds with one stone: Stick it to your bank and get better customer service.

Do not get another credit card if you are not going to pay it off monthly. You will lose money no matter how good the rebate if you are also paying interest on a balance. Credit cards with rebates/cashback are great for those that are disciplined enought to pay off the balance each month.

PayPal debit card. 0%APR, no annual fee.

Deducts directly from bank account, using another CC for backup funding.

They give cash back too, but I'm not sure what the percentage is.
