Nap Lajoie - Letter and Baseball

Friend has a 1950 letter written by Nap Lajoie's wife who sent him a baseball that she says was used in a major league game.

It is not signed.

Any worth to the letter and the baseball?

Thanks

Maybe the ball.................assuming it is from the period Nap played (up to 1916). Just a guess?

I would think the letter is the provenance that would give the ball it's legitimacy.

The ball might have value. You should check what type of ball it is and if there are any signatures/inscriptions written on the ball (sometimes they are very faint). The two items could sell but only if they were sold together.

Not sure if I am understanding this properly but to me the letter with the ball gives the ball value.

The ball alone with a story does not.
