He's closed on Mondays. But I had the urge, so I stopped by the gross, unfriendly and money-grubbing place I avoid at all costs.
I figured I'd take a chance.
Me: "Do you have any old engelhard 10 oz bars?"
Them: Not one. We have exactly 2 bars left. A "liberty" and a "national".
Me: Can I see the "liberty"?
I'd bought my only J&M MTB 1-oz bar there, so I was hoping it would be the same in a 10 oz. They hand me the bar and of course it's an MTB. I flip it over and my eyes are drawn immediately to the MTB logo. SCORE!! In perfect plastic, a virtually GEM 10 oz.
Not wanting to see overly interested, I scan for the J&M logo...and nothing.

It looks so right but there is just not a J&M stamp. Crap. I know it's a good bar, but I want the logo. I give in and decide to take it anyway.
Me: how much?
Them: $202.50.
Me: You'd take $200?
Them: We're doing you the greatest favor ever done to another human being. But yes, we'll do $200.

While I was photographing it I realized I'd been too anxious to see the J&M mark at the bottom and I missed this...
Didn't we have a thread about these not too long ago? That's Engelhard, isn't it?
