Do you get as excited about your 2 figure purchases as...

your 3, 4 or even 5 figure purchases? I know that I do, especially when I cherry lower priced coins in higher than usually attainable grades (or in the case of copper, in RED).

Yes, particularly if it is a hard to find coin in the condition, or in general - not all scarce coins are expensive!

The way you put it, good grades or red copper, I'm getting even more excited, except for the cases of coins that I've been waiting forever.

I find it very easy to get excited about two figure purchases as those are about my maximum right now.image

Haven't made any 4 or 5 figure purchases yet. High 3s is it for me. Most of my purchases lately have been < $200. It is the small purchases that keep me going between the bigger ones.

Absolutely. Especially when its a hard to find coin. Or when its really attractive. Or when I need to fill a hole in my set image

Most of my pickups are one and two figures, and yes, I do.

I come home, look at the coin again and then think... go figure...

absolutely - many of those 2 figure pcs are just as special as the higher figure - it is all in the eye of the beholder image

I get excitement from each purchase yet do part with some for an upgrade or a "greater cause" as a big auction coming up...

    Oh, yes, absolutely.

The bulk of my purchases happen to be two-figure purchases. 3-figure buys are only occasional for me, and four- and five-figure buys don't happen.

Most certainly. Most of my medals and lions are in that class and I am thrilled every time I pick up something new.image

I've never seen anything that I would part with 5 figures for.image

Most of my puchases are 2 figures, or close to it. I try not to buy anything that I wouldn't be excited to own (even if the excitement only lasts a whileimage).

absolutely... since the vast majority of my coin purchases are the 1 or 2 figure kind and I have never made a 4 or 5 figure coin purchase... just this weekend I bought 7 coins and paid a total of $16 with shipping for the coins and I am very excited about the coins since they fill 7 slots in my African copper type set collection!

The only time I've ever purchased any numismatic items with a three or four figure purchase price is if you count the decimal point! Most of my puchases fall under the double digits. (The most I've ever spent on a single item was $50)

I love them all though, or else I wouldn't have them! image

I get excited about any coin I add to my collection regardless of price... SSP, If you were interested in the never ending give a way but thought you had nothing anyone else would be interested in because of a lower book value you might be surprised. I took about 20 coins valued under a buck that I needed for my collection(s). I still need hundreds of coins worth a buck or two for my "core" collection of the German Empire, Weimar Reuplic and Third Reich and I still keep adding whimsical coins that I find interesting to my little off topic stash of "hey that's cool" hoard of coins. Have fun! You do not have to spend a bundle in order to have fun! But over time all those little purchases add up to big time returns...
