OT: Scanner problem... need help

Well, today was my day to scan cards for the BST board but when I try to scan with my HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One I'm having problems. When I hit the Scan To button the digital readout just keeps saying Starting Scan but nothing ever happens. Any IT gurus have any suggestions??

    did you try shutting down everything (not restarting) and starting back up?
    I've had similar problems and if that doesn't fix it I've reinstalled the driver and that usually cures it.
