First of all it looks like a beautiful coin. For an extra $3,000- a problem free will keep you happier alot longer.

That said- Other than the scar across the eagles neck/ shield it looks like it has alot of potential.

The pictures make the coin look to bright for my taste, but the other set of pictures they provided gave the immpression of a darker gold (the way I like to see them)

Now assuming the coin has natural skin- and the scratch is not as "seen" in the photo- I think you got yourself a great coin.

    In terms of the price....
it looks like you got a deal!

Assuming the 2 comments I made before are met, I felt you made off with the better specimen.
    Hope it crosses for you!
and post pictures when you get it!
may the fonz be with you...always...

I still want to pick one of those up. With one set now complete (as far as I can that is) I am going more type and proof Indians.

Now you’re talking. I also think 5% extra for independent eyes from a dealer you are building a relation with is really cheap in the long run. If you can't hold the coin you want to bid on, PAY FOR an appraisal and help with live bidding. You will save a lot of money by not pulling the string on the wrong coin, leaving you more $ for the really good stuff.
Very nice coin here. Congrats on your new gold!

my only wish for the coin is that it had more of a patina. a bit of dirt to show its
age. otherwise i like it a lot!

This, IMO, was one of the best designs the mint ever came out with. Nice pickup!

Nice AU55, wish I could afford one as I love early coinage. Great pickup, a definite keeper!
