Setting aside that it's bold for a seller with 9 feedback to be running a $90,000 auction, the deal works out to about $1800/ounce for the 4-piece gold proof sets. Is he that far over the top?

Just noticed it's for 27 sets. That makes them about 3333 each, about par for recent ebay sales. His ebay fees will be 1843. He could have reduced that to $52 if he had included an opening bid 81,500. Paypal fees on 90,000 come to 2610.
Any time you are going to list a buy it now on anything over $1000 it's always cheaper in ebay fees to establish an opening bid as well. Ebay requires it to be at least 10% less than the buy it now price.
