Craigslist - Has anyone found anything worth keeping?

Just recently, I've discovered Craigslist while looking for a place to rent in Kentucky. I have to say, the website is quite interesting with all the stuff people offer. So I'm wondering has anyone ever found any coins that were worthwhile?

<< <i>Lots of scams on that site. >>
Oh, I'm sure it's no better than eBay. But I think most of us have found a hidden gem on eBay from time to time. Thus my question.

I bought 54 Proof Silver Eagles in OGP a local (within 1 hour) guy listed for sale. We met FTF, transaction was smooth, both left happy.
Scams abound on craigslist, so it's best to meet up FTF in a public place after talking on the phone and working out a deal before you meet. I've had good luck with craigslist so far, its been a good outlet for honest people to buy and sell stuff. Of course, you have to weed thru the riff-raff.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
pretty easily, so watch out for that.
I will say that we have always met the other person FTF in a very public spot, such as a grocery store parking lot, etc., with lots of people around. There have been a few assaults and robberies in our area where the person goes to a specific private address, and are robbed at gun point. Of course the address is legit, but the homes are usually foreclosures, empty, etc., and they are robbed getting out of the car, or just pulling up in the drive.
Positive BST Transactions: kalshacon
(I purchased many other things in addition to the camera and couple coins)

There is good stuff to be found on Craigslist but I would stick to those you can pick up locally.
Coin wise bad: 1917 raw ddo. Cert'd as regular 1917 g8. (this was a year and a half ago, when I just started collecting. I didn't know my ... from a hole in the ground. I'm not perfect now but at least now I'm aware there are holes in the ground.)
Camera: Olympus e-500, 105mm Nikor macro, 10-40mm, 10-120mm, mem cards, etc for $400. Works great. Operator not so much.
got my job from craigslist
Fishing gear, tackle, furniture, nick nacks and paddy whacks.
It's not perfect, I agree, and buying coins on craigslist is getting harder and harder, but like ebay every once in a while a deal will poke its head up.
It's at least a good read and can be extremely funny at times, even if you don't buy anything.
In large city areas, like the SF Bay Area, it is well known for overert drug and sex dealing. Yes, it is full of scams and data miners.
BTW, eBay owns a stake in CL. Which funny thing, they filed a lawsuit against themselfs
<< <i>Just scan it for intertainment.

Wow and I aways wondered why those girls would ask for a hundred roses.
<< <i>Coin wise good: 19** ms62 Saint for $1100, sold within 4 days on craigslist for $1600. >>
I'm curious why you gave the date as 19**?

Guess that's where Craigslist beats Ebay as...
When I used to live in NYC Craigslist used to be GREAT for dating. And yes, I mean the non-pay dates
Oh, and my sister who has keys to my house is always selling stuff from for basemant and garage on CL. This weekend she handed me $75. She sold a 25 year old trolling motor for me I didn't even knew I had............MJ
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
<< <i>I buy all of my sports tickets on Craigslist. Never a problem. Coins on the other hand never even considered it.

Not touching your dating part!
Is it free to list on Craigslist
As I have stuff in my garage and shed I'd like to sell that can't be easily shipped.
They generate most of their revenue from real estate listings in SF and NYC. Everything else is pretty much free. You really can buy ANYTHING on CL.
I used CL this weekend. I posted an AD to buy playoff hockey tickets with a desired seating request. The following morning ( the day of the game) I get a call for two seats on the glass row 1. I meet the dude at a designated public place located between us and paid $15 each over face. Ticket brokers wanted $150 each over face for seats not nearly as good.

<< <i>Broadstruck- yes listings are free in almost all cities. CL- is really designed to sell locally. Cash and carry........

They also charge companies to post job listings.

On craigslist? I have not and would not buy anything form Craigslist. However, it occurred to me that we may have a member of the boards that had a story to share.

I could have told you that for free! More importantly, did you listen?

In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
My friend furnished his entire apartment from it. I have found my 2 apartments on there. I dont even want to fathom the money I have made and spent on Craigslist items. It's been way more efficient than any garage sale could be.
I've had good luck selling and found some nice groups of coins over the last couple years. Nothing amazing by this boards standards though
I've sold bikes, tennis rackets, ww2 medals, army uniforms, books, computers, furniture, coins, silver, lamps, records, sports cards, comic books and everything else you can imagine.
Although if it were up to me, I'd encourage you all to pay attention to the negative comments and stay FAAAARRRR away from craigslist. Why worry about all those 'scams'. Let me take care of all that worry for you!
It's just a matter of being smart about purchases/sales - I've ALWAYS chosen a public location etc.

Lack of memory of the exact date while at work.
Now at home and checking my records it was a 1907 low relief in ms62 condition. (nothing sinister about the **).

The big danger with CL is that because it is mostly local dealing, people show up to a meet with cash (or coins) and get mugged.
No Way Out: Stimulus and Money Printing Are the Only Path Left
now you`ll have to get on CL and see if you can find a good trolling motor for $75
