ODD QUESTION, BASED ON EBAY AUCTION CONCERNING 1952 BOWMAN BASEBALL WRAPPER

Is this the only way that these cards could be purchased; if so, how could every card not have a gum stain?

I think they came in 5 cent wrappers too. Notice the auction title is for a 1952 but the body of the auction describes a 1951?

I tried to read it but that description drove me away. Way too busy and hard to read.

I think all of my 52 bowman cards are stained on the back, I always thought they were wax stains though.

The seller of that '52 wrapper is a local card shop in Oregon, I know the owner and would be happy to pass along any questions.

If you're interested in buying that wrapper I can help mediate and get more information for you.

This seller certainly does like his exclamation points and ellipses...

I felt like I was being yelled at while reading his description.

Thats a bummer, I just bought an ungraded set, I'll be curious to see what the backs look like, thanks for the reply.
  • Perhaps this time capsule will help answer some questions....

    B I N G O !!!! Thank You, I feel better about a 20% chance of gum/wax as opposed to a guarantee of it!image
  • You're quite welcome. A picture is worth a thousand words. By the way Tualatin, Tigard & the Beaverton areas of west Portland are absolutely beautiful. I've been a customer at Mitchell's card shop since '92. Hooker's card shop in Eugene has great vintage as well...
