Cool, but you need to put a large "S" above the R & D.image

Gold Dollars with this degree of wear are actually very rare. This 1860 S has seen a lot of use, but not Abuse~!

Here's a VG10 I like. How many hands do you figure touched it? What did it buy? How long before it was taken out of circulation?

Circulated coins like this and those above are very attractive. Great topic!

I like the circulated cameo look on this one.

My dad got me this for my 40th birthday. I really like it. Nice details for an F15. image

Wow, I thought this thread had died on the vine... when I left home last night there were 4 posts. I was kind of wondering, given how these sort of coins should be the basis of a lot of collections. It looks like TD's comments have gotten this back on track. Thanks TD!

    Nice looking coins, everyone! image

I am fond of the 1875 s/cc in my sigline although it isn't raw. PCGS must be fond of it too as they made it the poster child for VF trade $s as the VF20 on their PhotoGrade, too bad it's in a VF25 holderimage

    MidLifeCrisis,

You may have an 1818 CBH with graffiti all over it, but if I'm not mistaken, it's the O.104 "b" die state, listed as an R.7!!! Check out the link at:

    http://coinzip.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=1818b&action=display&thread=1531

Compare all of the die cracks to yours.

You're welcome!! (or maybe you already knew this)

At any rate, I don't know a collector on this forum who wouldn't want to own an R.7, even with somebody's initials on it.

    Congratulations!
