Had a fun time at a auction and yard sale and found some cards!!

Got up at 7:30 in the morning to hit some local yard sales... Saw some various shoe boxes of sportscards with sealed material roughly 50-60 packs of you guessed it!! 1988 Topps racks 5 racks of 42 cards and 35 packs of 1988 Topps big cards 7 in a pack series one and series 2 and some 1989 Fleer packs of baseball. Asked what the price was and the lady said a $1 a shoe box
well I paid the lady for them and got home to search through the 200 card boxes and at the bottom of the box I saw two autographed 1993 pinnacle promo 1 of 3,000 autographed cards of Franco Harris!!!!
Would post pics of my finds but I don't know how to upload on here
Around noon I headed up to a local auction... I got to it and was amazed how much stuff this guy had it was absolutely crazy.. Knives , guns , tools, cards, native american pottery knick knacks everything!! I sorted through binders of junk wax roughly 4,000 cards in binders 1987-1990 donruss, topps, fleer commons, 1989 star cards baseball 1992 gameday football Mcdonalds. I bid something like $5 and lost out and it sold for $25 lol
Another better lot of cards roughly 100 or so Vg/ex to ex/mt 1968 Topps commons and roughly 500+ 1983-1992 baseball common and semistars, and at the bottom 8 1961 Golden Press cards in Ex to Nr/mt condion terry , speaker, sisler,cochrane,traynor,Mathewson,Cronin,Collins.. I took a photographic memory because I am really into this set #10 on the Golden press registry by the way... Easy set to memorize all the players and #'s...
Another neat item that was probably not worth a whole lot of $ but seemed interesting was a cut out of Roger Maris Newspaper clipping of 1961 Roger maris hits #61 with Maris taking a whack at the ball with the article along with the article of the event placed in a Cs4. I bid on the plastic box with all the goodies of 1968's , golden press, and cut out Maris #61 Hr article and semistars and commmons roughly 100 or more with some various vintage football and junk wax in the mix. I bid $27.50 and lost and a lady won the lot for $28 and times it by 2 and got both boxes of 1987-1993 junk star cards in toploaders and the better lot of vintage material along with a Ex 1984 Mattingly Rc
I was sort of mad that I lost but $60 for the two lots was out of my price range..
still a neat experience to see this stuff at auctions... Really wasn't spectacular cards but it was sets that I collected and cards that I needed for raw sets.. Football cards from the 1960's their but I know very little on football it looked like majority of common cards in better condition that you would expect all thrown in small plast pencil boxes roughly Ex to Ex /mint not many Vg crap... I bid accordingly but lost on all card auctions
I saw lots of 88 donruss and 87 topps woodgrain go for $20 - $30 Geez!

<< <i>Turns out that everyone threw away, shredded or burned these cards - there's very few left, and now these cards are worth a small fortune.
The year is now 2099 .....
lol
I was surprised to actually see quality vintage cards at the auction . 1960's football and 1960's baseball. I guess when you are used to seeing stuff like 5,000 count monster boxes of 1991 Fleer baseball cards you get excited when you see Exish 1960's cards
