........PCGS CAC but no + toner Morgan

SeattleSlammerSeattleSlammer Posts: 10,056 ✭✭✭✭✭
So assuming that both CAC and no + are accurate, that means it's somewhere between 65.5 and 65.84 ....................... right?

In any case, purty coin. image

ChrisRx, maybe it doesn't like you so it's not trying?

image Perhaps. The fields are just too dark and not a big fan of that brown. If instead of brown the fields were more green then I guess I would say it has pretty colors as a whole.

The 'toning premium' for that 65 coin is many multiples of its value were it white. So, getting it slabbed as a 65+ isn't meaningful in terms of adding more value.

Agreed. That is why unless it is all over "perfect" in magnificent toning, I can not see justification for paying so much. I would rather have a DMPL anyways.

No, graders can't grade to the nearest 100th of a point. Hopefully, you already knew thatimage

I am disappointed Mark. I always thought you were able
to grade out to 0.0001. Now you tell me you can't. It broke

CAC could be 65.4, that's still "solid for the grade".

A "+" could be a 65.7 with great eye appeal.

    Just sayin'!

I'd certainly take it if someone were to give it to me.

I owned that coin at one time,I loved it.Great 78-S,tougher date with nice color as well.image
Great coins are not cheap, and cheap coins are not great!
  • Must be nice getting 1000$ + over already high retail for run of the mill color you can easily find on ebay at any given hour.

That big horizontal mark in the middle of the cheek kills things for me. In fact, if it didn't have the color I'm not so sure it would be a 65.
    When in doubt, don't.

Are you sure about this? I thought it had to be at least 1/2 way into the grade to get the CAC........

Not positive but CAC green beans "A" and "B" coins. In my mind you don't need 65.5 for a B.
