Tim Tebow to the Broncos with the 25th pick

The Broncos coach wants people with integrity after the Brandon Marshall fiasco so he does fit
in that category. Most likely he won't play right away but if the other Denver QB's falter the pressure
will be great to start him.

Mel Kiper is not impressed with Tebow and after getting in his early remarks basically sat out the rest
of the discussion and looked rather annoyed with all of the Tebow talk from the rest of the group.

Good luck to Tebow and he should be able to handle the crush of media attention he will be getting this
coming season.

Horrible pick, I am not a Tebow believer, He is Scott Frost (former husker QB on national champ team in 97) reincarnated with media hype.

I can't see him being a productive QB in the NFL whatsoever......

You mean Eric Crouch, right? image
  • I think Denver is a good fit for Tebow. They have a talented QB now, so they won't rush him, they'll let him learn & develop and that's just what he needs. They have a smart young coach out there and I think Denver is well positioned for the future. Not surprised Tebow went in the first round.
  • But Brady Quinn can't be too happy...

Ummm, I still believe Orton is the best QB on that team. Quinn shouldn't be too upset though. If he ever gets to play, he'll be able to throw to a pretty decent TE in Tebow. Denver just traded their TE to Detroit. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Watching Sportscenter this AM I heard they traded up to get him. Must have been another team with interest in him, otherwise why the need to move up.

I think the Patriots were interested in drafting Tebow with their #27.

Depending on the team and the situation, I think Tebow is worth a shot. It's not only about skill with drafted quarterbacks, it's mostly about desire whether they succeed or not, and often that is hard to gauge even for the player himself. Until they start experiencing huge pro football players ramming into their bodies while standing in the pocket, and whether or not they have the heart to take that type of consistent punishment, especially when they are now rich...makes drafting a quarterback always a crapshoot. But in this case, I think the odds are better than usual that Tebow will succeed, how successful, I have no idea. We'll see how he does.

Funny how Tim Tebow is a bigger story than Sam Bradford.

That's simply because we've pretty much known for a month or so that Bradford would likely be the pick at #1. Most didn't expect Tebow to go in the first round. I think it was a reach unless Denver thinks he's going to be an All-Pro Tight End or FB.

I like it when in sports [or any other human endeavor] someone comes along that performs at a high level in a manner that defies the "conventional wisdom" about how things should be done and how things should look.

For example, Tebow having success as a QB that is not a good passer; an Olympic bobsled team from the Caribean; a 5'6" basketball player who can dunk; a 7' basketball player who plays point guard, etc.
