Recently received deplorable customer service at Teletrade

I just called Teletrade to get a tracking number for a couple of coins I won in an auction. Now I realize I probably dont spend as much money as a lot of people, in fact if I win 2-5 auctions a year that is good for me; regardless you would think that I would receive at least some respect for being a customer?

No such luck - I was treated very rudely and it made me feel like I am not appreciated. But instead of getting angry I will just tell of my bad experience.


Maybe I am being a crybaby but it was just rude!

I actually got some good CS from Irma yesterday.
I have noticed that I don't get tracking numbers when I get notice that my lot(s) have shipped, but I haven't tried calling for one.
I have also noticed that my shipments from TT are some of the LONGEST to get.

I called for the number and instead of just giving me the number she just came up with excuses about why I did not need the tracking number because they ship out thousands of packages a day, etc.

And by living in a condo I have to know what service they use because I some leave a note and some dont, it can vary so I like to know when I should expect a given package. So instead of just listening she went on to try to justify why I did not need a tracking number.

In the end I finally got the number and I found that I will probably get it tomorrow...in the grand scheme of things its not that important I guess, it was just a bad experience.

I'm like you and only purchase a few coins from teletrade a year, but I have dealt with Mrs. Irma a couple of times and she was super nice to me. Could not have asked for any better.

Call GIL.... Virtually impossible to get "deplorable cs" that way. He will take care of you with 5 star service every time. Write back after you have spoken with him.

While I can understand your situation, Teletrade always ships with signature confirmation regardless of value.

My only whine with Teletrade is that $8.00 per coin minimum buyer's fee.....................................

What does a tracking number do for you?

I've been buying coins from Teletrade since 1987 and never once had a slow shipment or ever needed a tracking number.

Having it tells you the item shipped, then tells you that you have it.

They are useless bits of info, but everyone seems to want them.

Irma is great, so there is no way you spoke to her.

Call Irma or Gil and let them know you are frustrated.

no offense, but I think you are a crybaby. I have gotten 100's of items from Teletrade and never needed a tracking number. It is a worthless piece of info and a waste of their time.

You will get an email saying you won. You sign into your account and pay. One or two days later you will get a notice saying item shipped. 3 days after that it arrives in the mail like clockwork.

If you win a Sunday auction, you will get the item in the mail assuming you paid promptly by the next Friday or Saturday at the latest, like clockwork, everytime.

Maybe switch to decaf and you'll feel better.

It would sure be nice if somebody could find a way to get eBay buyers to understand this.

I have never had any problems with TT and think they provide fast and reliable service. Even if you did have a Post office tracking number, you would then learn the meaning of useless My only problem is that everything is sent signature required (even if it worth 20 bucks), so I end up having to go down to the post office and get it. Now that is anothor joke, they have a 10x10' lobby for a PO annex that serves 100,000 people, you gotta be kidding me. !

Reguadless of wether the tracking info is worthless, that is not a justified reason to be rude. Why not just punch a few buttons to find the customer info and give him the number and be pleasant. They can keep the worthless comments to themselves.

Everyone is different and everyone can come across at times as rude or indifferent even if they do not mean to.

I live in Virginia and the latest my shipments arrive from a Sunday auction is Friday, sometimes Thursday.

TT is consistently among the fastest shippers. I almost always get my coins within 2 days after the email; sometimes 3 days but mostly 2.

Oh, all the fun is in the wait. The anticipation. The hope it will be better than the picture and discription. Then you get it, the fun fades, and the coin is locked away in the dark until it's time to repeat the process.
