Anyone ever heard of "Top Notch" gold and silver...They called today and

I got a real suspicious call today from a guy named Mike at "Top Notch gold and silver" Just wondering if anyone else got a call from someone like this trying to sell valuables.

He said they just bought an estate lot of Morgan Silver Dollars.

I post this in case others here receive something similar and if not to be on the look out.

He may be legit, but red flags went off big time in my conversation. He was definitely fishing to see what I collected.

I have no idea regarding this so-called company, but what I wonder is how people like him and the others get your/our information? Is it known that coin dealers may sell this information off to these individuals? Perhaps numismatic publications?

As for how they linked me to coin collecting, I don't know. When I was "new" I bought some low end stuff from a few places, and some supplies, but I can't believe I gave them my phone number. Of course I am in the book, if they had my name and address......

When places like that call, I always tell them I have sold my collection

and am out of coin collecting. They hang up reqal fast at that point.Otherwise

There are enough coin dealers for you to work with (by your choice) that you simply don't have to deal with someone who calls you out of the blue.
