    That would be considered a stock photo and you need to disclose that the one they get may have a different
    serial number. Only allowed on modern coins not the older stuff.

    Wrong: "Include a clear picture of the actual item being sold—don’t use only stock pictures. You can add up to 12 photos to your Collectibles listings for free.

    "In addition, listings for certified coins must include an image of the item, showing the coin in its graded holder. The image needs to be clear and the grading company, grade, and certification number should easily be readable."

    Stock photos are OK on modern wigets...

    Only need a front picture and state "Stock Photo" or equiv.

    Wrong. This was brought up before, after they made the initial change. As noted above, it IS ok to do a stock photo for a "modern widget", such as SHQs, SAEs, other collectible bullion, etc.

    I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    ebay rules.
    Lance.

    Certified coins

    When listing a certified coin, the coin must be certified by one of the following authorized grading companies:

    * Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC)
    * Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS)
    * Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS)
    * Independent Coin Graders (ICG)
    * American Numismatic Association Certification Service (ANACS)

    If the coin listed is not certified by one of these grading companies, the coin is considered raw and uncertified and is subject to additional requirements for sale.

    In addition, listings for certified coins must include an image of the item, showing the coin in its graded holder. The image needs to be clear and the grading company, grade, and certification number should easily be readable.

    Note: Coins certified before 1980 must show the full front and back of the holder. Coins certified in 1980 or after must show the full front of the holder.

    Raw and uncertified coins

    A raw or uncertified coin is defined as any coin not graded by an authorized grading company. Sellers can list these items on eBay as long as:

    * A numeric grade (such as MS-65, VF-25) is not included in the title of the listing. A numeric grade can only be included in the item description.
    * No grading company is referenced in the title or description.
    * No estimate of value (even if personal opinion) or reference to a price guide is included in the title or description.
    * The listing includes a photo of the coin being sold. Images that are dark, out of focus, edited, or might be misleading aren't. Also, stock photos aren't allowed.

    Wrong: Just because it's noted above doesn't mean it overides what is published on ebay's site for listing coins. Thanks, but no thanks, I'll go by their published rules. Jerry may play by different rules, but the OP post questioned Ebay's rules and they are what they are.
