    100x GS?
That seems steep even for such a nice coin?

It's a VERY rare Overton variety... IIRC it's one of like, what, 7 or 8 known and maybe top 3 condition census? It's actually an O-148a, Last I checked 12 O-148s were known, the 148a being the rarer of the two. I think it was listed as an R8- or R7+.

    $20,000 coin right there.

    To correct myself...

12 known, this might be the 13th. One AU55 (Assumed) was sold in 1976, this coin is probably the second finest known, and it's very original in hand (I saw it in person). It MAY be the finest known if that AU example is not original.

This one just sold for over $21,000 And it was lower grade, PCGS VF35. Also, it was attributed as an O-148, PCGS attributes the O-148a, NGC does not but the NGC holder shows the edge difference that identifies this as the tougher O-148a.

I remember when Larry made the discovery, before it went to NGC, I'm very happy that the coin found a good home image

I paid 300% over bid on a two cent piece.
The grey sheet is ok for moderns I think.
