1957 type b quarter - gunk removal? ddo? New pics

Per Mr. Sciences question if there was some doubling on the obverse I took some more pictures tonight, trying to zoom in as much as I could on the IGWT and the date. These are my results.
. Also, gunk on obverse. Acetone, right?
.
.
After reading all the identifiers on the multiple threads here and spending some time on Ebay figuring out what to look for I have finally procured my first type b quarter. Granted it isn't the ms70 INB graded it (nor did I expect it to be). But I think for $15 including s/h it is a good educational tool for me so I will have something that looks nice and is a good reference tool.
Feel free to critique to your hearts content. I have thick skin, strong will and enough brains to know not to take it personal. Except for you, your opinion is wrong, even though I asked for your opinion. (this is how I always imagined BBN's threads should start).

That is an interesting area of weakness in the eagle's tailfeathers.
Would the flaking on the obverse be pretty common for this time period? At 2 oclock, 3 oclock and on Washington's chin?

Tough to tell but looks like a struck thru error obv/rev.....@ the 2-3:00 on both.......nice pick up....
Hoard the keys.
Also, what would cause the thin line running down both outer edges of the wings. The one on the left runs pretty much from the top of the wing below D, all the way to the bottom leaf inside the wing. The one on the right starts half way down the wing and runs to the bottom.
Thanks,
Nick
<< <i>Bringing this back up for more advice. I was fiddling with the case and low and behold it opens right up (thanks INB). What I though were spots where metal had fallen off, (2 and 3 o'clock on obverse and on washingtons chin and just below his ear) are actually a glue type substance (reminds me of rubber cement). I know absolutely zilch about how to get this material off of these coins and would love some advice.

The lines on the wings are die cracks. They are very common on the type B reverse quarters in 1957.
Is there some doubling on the date and IGWT? I think I see some notching on the '5' and the 'G' -- or am I hallucinating?!
Enjoy.
