Ebayers, how long to wait before "Second Chancing"?

For the first time I sold some coins on Ebay, (I owe Uncle Sam more than I have lying around) and I thought I did pretty well. Enough to pay my taxes. The bidder that won an almost $2300 coin hasn't contacted me at all after a day. I always pay right away. Is this normal? I've emailed him asking about his plans with no response, and I did send the invoice right after bidding ended. Since others wanted the coin and I need the money how long do you wait before "second chancing" the coin?

You should wait at least 5 days. It is the weekend, and some people have other things to do.
If the buyer has great feedback, then you should have nothing to worry about.
You've contacted him twice in 24 hours? He's wondering why you're so antsy? "Hmmm, did I make a mistake? Is there something wrong with this coin?"
Last, second chance offers are seldom accepted for reasons similar to line two above. --Jerry
If you NEED the money right away, then sell local at a coin shop/show and take the hit.
If you are planning to use ebay and want the money, set a price, use Buy it Now w/ immediate payment required.
Otherwise, the buyer is under NO obligation to pay "immediately" or even within a day.
Not everyone is sitting right at their PC waiting to pay for a coin they had put a bid in....heck, it's even the weekend and some folks have a life.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>Thanks for the feedback and the info. I guess I should read all the rules before playing the game. I did try selling locally and quite honestly on this coin and the others I did over 25% better. I guess, obviously not everyone pays right away like I have always done. It does seem in the past I have gotten 2nd chance offers almost immediately after auctions closed, at least the next day. Thanks again. >>
A quick 2nd chance may mean they have more of the same (if it is a modern/common coin, this is more common).
It may also mean they shilled.
Or, someone bagged out after winning (ie...."sorry, my son bid for me", "I hit the wrong amount", "I don't want it and will just return it")

PAYPAL will probably hold your funds for 3 weeks or until positive feedback left

When I do second chance on coins that I have more than one of I always add a note that I have another coin. They still don't take the second chance offer. I assume the question they have is "OK, so how many more does he have." Second chance offers are just not good psychologically for the buyer. --Jerry
