I had a chance to speak briefly with Ralph Branca and his memories of April 15, 1947. Enjoy.

There is a good book written by Ed Stevens, who was the man that Jackie replaced at first base in 1947. It tells Stevens' side of how he answered the questions of "letting" a black man take his job. I just bought it recently and look forward to reading it. I'm sure there are some good stories in there too.
