Strange 2008 Gold Koala Slab

Anyone know what this slab is? There's no grade. I was thinking it was some sort of sample slab?

    Yes, I think similar to the low cost slabs PCGS was (is?) doing for US coins. Not giving the number they were charging less. No doubt you could find out from the mother site with some work.

    I have seen other PCGS slabs with no grades. PCGS must have just an authentication service in which these ungraded coins fall under. Sample slabs are promotional freebies by nature from companies and I doubt that a 1 troy ounce proof coin would ever be a sample slab. image
