New Registry Set

Although it is the story of my life as I just submitted a group of Trade dollars and got turned down as to having the the hub type(Rev in my case) listed on the holder. Photographer extraordinaire Blu62vette, just pointed out to me that PCGS has a new complete Trade $ set, so it looks like people will finally be able to get the hub type on the holder.********************** NOTE to PCGS you left off one of the KEYs in the 1876 P Type 1/2 OBV*********************

Thanks for this thread. I have been wondering about the difference in the rarity between the Type 1s and Type 2 reverses on the various dates they occur. According to the scale, they are equally divided. In my coin show travels, I don't see many peers to the 78-CC. I guess that means that I don't agree with their version of the 1-10 rarity scale. Too many 10s.

Thanks for pointing this out Crypto79. I think it is great PCGS is doing this, but as you point out they forgot the 76 P II/II. In addition, they list the rarity of the various types pretty much the same. They are not. For example, 95 percent of the 75 P Trade dollars have a type II reverse; the 75 P with a type I reverse is a very rare coin. The same is true for many of the others, including the 76-CC which has been discussed on these boards before.

There are too many 10's you are right. TO me the break down should go in order like this

    The 10's should be the
    1876 s DDO
    1876 obv 2
    1875 obv 1
    1877 DDO

    9's
    1876 cc Rev 1
    1878 cc
    1875 cc Rev 2
    1873 cc MPD

    8's
    1873 CC
    1877 s DDR die1
    1875 s/cc
    1876 cc DDR
    1877 cc
    1875 Rev2

    7's
    1876cc rev2
    1878s DDR
    1876 s OBV 2
