More excited about NBA or NHL Playoffs?

I'd have to give the edge to the NHL, always seems to be an intensity to these games that makes them fun to watch no matter what team you are a fan of. However, even though I don't watch much NBA basket I do like Lebron's game and might tune in to see if he can add a ring to his impressive resume. So for me it's a coin toss as of today

  • Aside from the Magic and Kobe-Durant, I'm looking forward to the NHL playoffs even without the Lightning in it. I'd be fine with basically anyone winning it except for Buffalo or Pittsburgh pretty much but even then it's not a big deal if they do. Perhaps a Western team?
  • I hope everyone had a chance to see the wings v. coyotes game last night, awesome up and down action open ice skating, also the san jose v. avs game was a nailbiter

NOTHING is better than the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Especially in person. My greatest thrill in person was seeing Game Seven of the 2006 Finals when the Canes won the Cup against the Oilers. The greatest letdown was watching Game Three of the 2002 Finals when the Canes gave up a goal to Brett Hull with Hasek pulled and then lost in triple overtime in a thriller.

They are on the Versus channel but you need cable or satellite to get it until the final round when
    NBC has it.

How anyone can what an NBA not involving their team is beyond me. After the brutal officiating that gift wrapped the Miami/Dallas series for Wade a few years ago the league has been intolerable. Maybe in another 30 years when the Timberwolves get good again, I'll watch.

So the answer is NHL. Unfortunately without Versus, I'm pretty much shut out. Go baseball!

What's with the Capitals? They just pulled a Yankee! imageimage

Up 3 games to 1 against Montreal and end up losing the series image

Best record in the regular season (President's Trophy winner) - lose to not only the #8 seed, but the team with the worst record of any playoff team! image

Best home record in the league, and lose 3 games at home in Round 1 image

Montreal is only the 9th #8 seed in 32 series to beat the #1 seed, and the first to come back from a 1-3 deficit! image

Pittsburgh is the highest seed (#4) to win their 1st Round series! image

All three eastern conference division winners (Washington, New Jersey and Buffalo), lost their 1st Round series image

pretty amazing, isn't it? My team (Bruins) was sixth...yet gets home ice advantage in the second round. That's unheard of.

    Yep.

My team is the Avalanche image

Had a good chance to beat the Sharks, but just couldn't pull it off.

Now I don't quite know who to root for.....it'll probably end up being whoever's playing the Red Wings image After that?..........

I am not much of a hockey fan but their games are generally more exciting than the NBA playoff games. However, I am still figuring out the rules and what not. Go Shark's (and go OKC!)!!!

A game seven playoff game is on the edge of your seat 60 minutes

Only had a chance to see a few games in the 1st round, Boston worked their tails off against Buffalo.
If they can keep up that hard work in the next round they'll be tuff to beat
