Would like a better scan, but from the one provided, NO! Seems to be chipping on the bottom, too OC, and some snow too?

I could see NM 7, but never an 8.

If it was perfect all other ways maybe I could overlook the centering but there is chipping on the bottom of the card and the lower right corner looks dinged.

I wouldn't buy it as an 8, maybe it technically falls into that grade but to me the eye appeal along with the damaged border and corners wouldn't cut it for me.

I know they are sorta lenient on the centering on the '57's, but I would think this would be more of a 6 or 7. It must have really strong corners......

PSA 6 at best. But what do I know. I'm no grading expert. I would not buy it for PSA 7 money.

Hard to tell from the scan, but my best guess would be a 6 or a 7 at best.

really hard to tell what's going on with the bottom right corner.

either way, I do not like the centering, particularly for an 8
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

  • I have noticed this on many PSA 8 cards lately, there was a whole batch of 1965's sold by one particular seller (oliva, Conigliaro) that looking at the centering would be a weak 7 but were 8's.

I wonder if these are being graded by one or two particular grader.

Its is almost , I take that back, it is 100% laughable.

However, what this does is eliminates any "griping" about SGC's standard for centering.

    2 wrongs don't make a right.
  • nobody is saying that, but IMO the two companies are basically the same.

High grade cards, vintage are very similar in price as a whole, not one particular example.

And IMO the holder for SGC is FAR FAR superior so far as looks go.

You cant dispute that PSA has taken a step back and has gotten more and more smug.

The guy that graded that one must of been the same guy who graded the PSA7 59 Robin Roberts I bought on Ebay that had heavy wax stain on the back.

I agree 100% with Ralph. The chipping on the bottom ... both right corners ... the centering ... all SUCK!

This why there should be an explanation online. I would love to read it because that is a PSA7(OC) at best.
  • the centering looks fine to me and is worthy of a psa 8
  • what? are you the seller of this card?

I agree that the centering is within PSA 8 standards, but I dont think the card itself is
