What an Absolute Treat!

Well, for me at least.

I ordered a grouping of 15 IKE Proof Dollars off of eBay which arrived in today's mail. 5 of the coins were in an original shipping box but the thing that pleased me the most was an original order form for the Eisenhower Dollars printed in early 1971! (GPO:1971 OL-419-511)

Whether I find anything of value in the shipment is unimportant at this point in time since the above document made the transaction very "worth while" for me!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

It's the little things that usually matter most.

  • You should fill them out and order some more at those prices. Can flip them at melt.

That's very cool and interesting to note that they are less expensive today in real dollars than they were in 1971.

Oh I love stuff like that! Old original paperwork/packaging is the best. I love $2 FRNS and so I have been looking for original Bureau of Engragiving & Printing marketing or ordering type materials that would have come out in late 1975, early 1976 but have not found anything. Your original order form reminds me of something I would be looking for.

This kind of material adds to the collecting experience. I love the brochures connected with the GSA sales as well!

Yes! Months! (and we whine if it goes 6 weeks! image )

check out the ordering limits though. Maximum of 5 coins of each!

Those were the days when folks had multiple US Mint accounts as ordering limits were by account number and not shipping address. Those were also the days when proofs sets could be limited to only 5 per customer.
