When I am bummed, cards help.

This semester at school has been especially tough. I have a horrible professor and for the first time will have to appeal my final grade. I’m only collecting one set at the moment, as more than one gets in the way from studying, but I’ve found that when I’m bummed over schoolwork my cards help calm me, taking my mind off of whatever it is that’s bothering me. Sifting through, looking for nice ones to mail away for grading, putting a few aside for TTM’s, doing some online buying, and even playing hockey seems to help.
Just thought I would share.

GED? Is there a class that could teach you to not be a douchebag? Nevermind, you'd probably get an F and appeal it.....
Nice to see its not just CU members who are horrible in your eyes, its professors too. Funny how the whole world is against you, but your perfect.

Don't mind him. He's just mad he can't spell "you're perfect."
Hang in there and try to focus on school.... You can always come back here after you're finished and buy up all the great cards with that great job you're going to get from all that college
Keep your head up!

Joe's just mad because Steve Largent had to appeal his final biology grade at Tulsa. Had the appeal gone through, and his GPA been raised a hair higher ... he might have landed on a smarter team than the Seahawks.
Jim Zorn's college also called last week, and they want their degree back ... after his lackluster effort at coaching the Redskins.
It's just a bad time to be a Seahawks fan. Not that there's ever really a good time.

Very smart actually...others might use alcohol, drugs, gambling, etc as an "escape" from the pressure. Using the cards to "help calm me, taking my mind off of whatever it is that’s bothering me" is a wonderful idea - I wish I had been that wise when I was your age. I was never into drugs, but certainly too much alcohol and gambling was in my college biography. LOL
Cards are a great way to do it...Donato

I don't see how you got any of that out of Patrick's post.
I'm sure we've all had a professor who was less than fair with you. The problem with grading can be that it is subjective. I know I've had professors dissect my papers in ways I haven't agreed with.
Good luck Patrick!
Over the past couple of months, I've had 2 people call me Ted, plus a couple of others ask me about some snarky remarks I'd supposedly made towards other board members .. which I never made. I was wondering what in the heck they were talking about since I haven't been posting much around here lately? Although since I do tend to make snarky remarks, and I rarely check back in on threads that I commented on ... I never really gave it much thought. But now that I see you've switched your avatar over to the fabulous Mr. Peter Griffin, I'm guessing it's you that they were confusing me with.
Now to the well trained eye, it's obvious that you've selected a season 5, newer, mouth opened, 1 collar flip variation, left profile of Mr. Griffin's hansom face. While I, on the other hand, have been sporting the season 2, older, mouth closed, no collar flip, right profile version of his gorgeous mug. You'd naturally think that most educated collectors on this forum would be able to distinguish the two completely different versions of this famous American icon. However, sadly there are some who can not.
I'm thinking to help add to the confusion I'll change my user name over to NotaRepublicanInMass, or maybe RepublicanInMaryland, or perhaps ShouldabeenaRepublicanInMass?
I've also been debating switching over to this newer, saucier Peter Griffin icon:
But until I make any changes, I just wanted you to know that if anyone calls you Mike, or if you're accused of some tasteless comment that you didn't make ... it will probably be me, helping to drag your message board reputation through the mud.

I find reporting counterfeit cards on eBay to be very relaxing and satisfying.
