Grades are in, and for the most part very happy

I dont have pics at this time, but here are the grades.

1 1 16638342 4277 1830 H10C US VF30
I thought it had a chance at ef40, but I think I was blinded by some areas of nice toning. Happy with the grade.

2 1 16638343 3985 1938-D/S 5C Buffalo US MS64
Expected 64, was sold to me as a 60

3 1 16638344 4998 1936 10C US Genuine (92 - Cleaned)
Picked this out of a dollar bin. Had an unsitely black spot, dipped and took a shot, thought 65 fsb.

4 1 16638345 5357 1838 25C Capped Bust US VG08
bought at melt, guy said no way it will grade, so he is paying the grading fee

5 1 16638346 6144 1827 50C Square Base 2 US VF30
I had this one in the 30 - 35 range, happy with the grade

6 1 16638347 6156 1830 50C Small 0 US XF45
sad to say I cant remember what I thought this one would grade. So I guess I am suprised.

7 1 16638348 6166 1834 50C Small Date, Small Letters US F12
Same as number four, he thought it would BB for cleaning

8 1 16638349 8383 1893 $5 US MS60
This one I am even shocked with. I bought at spot + 7%. He said it was cleaned and I agreed. After looking at it and others on line I was unsure if it was cleaned. To be honest I have a real hard time with gold coins. So this was sent in as a learning tool. Now I am really confused. Will have to wait and study it when it arrives. Very happy with the grade.

1 1 16570447 6543 1896 50C US PR61
Ok this one I am disappointed with. I believe it to be a PR63. Maybe the nice toning is clouding my judgement, but there is very little on this coin to grade a PR61. Again being totally honest I am not a great grader on proofs either. I payed 60 money for it, so I am atleast even, but this one deserves better. Oh yeah this was a secure plus submission. Might be cracking the first secure plus slab, soon.

If I can get pics I will add them later.

Gary

Time to get the next batch ready.

Curiously, why did you pay to have those coins graded? Based on their values, a number of them don't seem to warrant the expense.

As long as you are happy nothing else matters.

Well the VG08 and Fine12, I payed melt and the guy bet me the grading fees that they would not grade. So for melt and now free grading I thought it was a good deal.

    Coins logged in on 3/10.

So either way, regardless of who won the bet, one of you would have wasted money on grading fees.image
