Can anyone tell me anything interesting about this 1964 NY World's Fair Token?

Is it struck in gold? I can see what looks like 999 (or something similar) at the base of Liberty.

Ahhh, smart and observant! .900 gold in 1964. Wasn't gold illegal to own until 1973?

I understand these were hunted down and confiscated at the time-I wonder how many escaped detection.

Either way, this was donated for the LordM trip.

How do I maximize it's value?

I understand this may be a copy (with differences) of the original minted to avoid
the laws against owning gold in 1964.

How does that affect value? Is it's value strictly as gold bullion at this point?

Does anyone have a link to the original? I'm trying to maximize value to reach the trip goal
so I can then return to a normal life.image

I would also appreciate advice on how best to market it on eBay.

I guess I'm trying to find those folks who will spend thousands on spurious pieces with no value...image

Not really, I just wanted to say that one time.image

Confession - I'm clueless about World Fair Tokens and did not mean to infer that this specimen was a counterfeit - only that Liberty is a an odd study as depicted.image
