A shot at an Obsolete Minor Collection!

This is the first one pictured for my Obsolete Minor Collection that I will eventually get to post as a Signature set. Goal was to put together one example of the first or second denomination from every obsolete or pre-republic country/colony etc. I haven't fine tuned or finalized what I'd like to do - but will as it moves along...I originally had in mind until WW2 (late '40's), but then decided against that idea - cut it to about 1900.
This one is a German New Guinea 2 Pfennig - Only 17k minted in Berlin in copper. Just a nice example of this one year type. Its in an NGC MS64-RB holder and few have been graded.

Collecting:
Conder tokens
19th & 20th Century coins from Great Britain and the Realm
Neat idea for a collecting theme! It's always interesting to hear how different collectors go about assembling their collections.
Thanks for sharing!
I know it would be more exciting if it was 4+ figure gold or crowns but that's gonna have to wait
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Those German New Guineas are way scarce!

That whole series is very tough but imho is one of the most beautiful.
Here's a pretty nice example (not mine) of the 'Bird of Paradise' 1 Mark struck only in 1894, minted in Berlin, mintage-45,000
Other mintage in this series:
1 Pfennig- 500,000
10 Pfennig- 100,000
1/2 Mark- 20,000
2 Mark- 15,000
5 Mark- 23,000
10 Mark- 2000
20 Mark- 1500
The 10 and 20 Mark are dated 1895, price- through the roof.
Thanks for sharing yours and I think the pics are great!
