Ladies, Gentleman, and all Gold lovers, lend me your opinion of a grade!

So I bought this on ebay raw! Risky, I know.
It looks fine to me, but maybe I am missing something.
What are your thoughts on the grade? I bought it for melt, and had a Ebay bucks certificate so got about $125 off. My net after everything was around $200.
Lighting is off, but the coin looks fine in hand.

Can I have my opinion back when you are done with it?
<< <i>Maybe it's just the imaging, but the surfaces look oddly textured, as if the coin had been buried or suffered salt water damage. >>
My first thought. Looks like the flat surfaces of a matte proof. Where's the luster? Looks like it was lightly sand blasted.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Surfaces do not look right to me either. I don't think it would grade based on the images.

Could it just be the photo?
I am down with gold by the pound.
Nothing wrong with a gold throng.
Good you would pounce on every last ounce.

<< <i>Did you weigh and measure it already? >>
Not yet, its in a flip, and if something seems off, I would rather leave it in the flip.
But what should it weigh?

Why not look it up?

She weighed 8.3 grams. Here are more pics under ott lights. The hairlines are not as pronounced in hand, but she probably was cleaned at one point.

<< <i>I really hate to say this but, could it be counterfeit? >>
That is a fear, which is why I posted it here. The seller has over 350 positive feedback and has been on ebay since 2007.
If it does happen, I hope paypal will protect me.

Are you planning to have it graded? It's probably the best way to detrmine its authenticity. But you may have to move quickly before your Paypal protection expires. I'm not sure how long it goes for but us here in Australia, we only have 45 days from purchase date to dispute a transaction.
Goodluck!

Nestor

It would be a waste of money to submit it to a grading company, as a knowledgeable collector or dealer at a show could verify its authenticity.
