Type B Reverses on Quarters

Real quickly or easily could someone explain Type b reverses and do they have much of a mark-up in value?
I know I can search them in the archives of the Forum but I'm lazy tonight. I'm also at work and don't wan't the internet time against me. What year coins are involved?

Thanks
Ron

  • Type B is the modified reverse used on proof quarters of 1937-1942, 1950-1964, some 1968 S and 1969 S-1972 S.
    Circulation strike type B's exist for 1956-1964 and 1969 D - 1972 D.
There are many minor differences between the ordinary circulation strikes and type B's.
A very obvious one is that the leaf by the arrowpoints juts above them on a type B and the space between the arrowpoints and leaf is filled in.
A type B in a PCGS holder attributed as a type B and at least MS 65 is a very desireable item as might be 1956 and 1961 in lesser grades.
I would say circulated silver B's are worth melt. The clad B's are so scarce, that there is no active market for them.

Thank you PAC for the answer. I have seen a lot about Type B, C, etc. reverses and just wondered. Appreciate the help.
