With all these cards being produced, Game used, game used autographs and #'ed cards, what do yuo think will happen over time, you know how the old commons from 1950-1960 are pretty high in value I'm guessing not the same will happen with new commons over time, but overall where are the values of these game used cards going? if someone is in it for the long term investment is it worth it?

"Vintage" cards are only valuable because there were not "billions and billions" made, therefore, like a card numbered out of 25 or whatever in this decade has around the same value. IF it is a star player! I personally think, that people who are in it for "long term investments" have the WRONG idea (no offense to any one)! There are (as I stated above) literally "billions and billions" or GU'ed cards that have been manufactered! If you really break it down, GU'ed bats, are a sliver of a stick that the player probably never touched (inside of the bat). Or it is a square inch (if that) of fabric that the player wore, that cam from who knows where (armpit, lol...eeeeeeew). Or even a stupid peice of a basketball or football that is about the size of half a dime, and it books $40!!!!!!!!! Even though all that I said may have mislead you, but I DO collect SOME GU'ed cards!! But only of the FEW players I collect. Other than that, I only trade for GU'ed cards of people I DON'T collect, because there is a high demand (I am sure you will agree).
Plain and simple, I would rather have a WHOLE bat of Albert Pujols, or WHOLE jersey of Ichiro.
Another fact I might add is this:
I think that it is just plain idiocy to cut up a jersey (a bat at that) or Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle. Not to mention cutting up a jersey of Kareem Abdul Jabbar, or Walter Payton. Those a priceless peices of memorabilia that they cut up and make it worth something (which to me is plain stupidity).
My own little opinion, Austin.
I'm back - you better believe it
I dont think they [gu cards now days] will be booking much in about 30-40 years because they have made so many.
Now some may rise a bit, if you got a superstar player like mj, kobe, vc, kg, etc.
But for a common gu, like this one [which I have]- 01-02 ud ovation warm-up jersey Antonio McDyess... I think in the year 2030 it will be worth like $30-40

commons will drop to about a penny a piece because there are more supply than demand. When it comes to vintage, you only had Leaf,Topps, Bowman.. then Topps/Bowman/Fleer .. then Topps/Fleer/Donruss. Only 3 choices vs. demand, so everyone were chasing the same 3 types of cards. Back then, you only had 1 or 2 rookies of a particular player. Now you have 16-30 different rookie cards of a player. If people can't afford the expensive one, they can get a cheaper one.
