Morneau, Mauer, Kubel, Cuddyer, Thome, heck the new improved Delmon Young... Have any of you non Twins fans seen the drastic change in Delmon young, wow. Kid dropped 30 lbs, looking like he is having fun for once. Cleveland doesnt have Cliff Lee, I'm sorry to say I see them in the cellar this season... Good luck though !
Wish we somehow could have got a little more pitching this off-season, but I'll roll with what we have. Liriano pitches today, is he BACK???
Buying Vintage, all sports.
Buying Woody Hayes, Les Horvath, Vic Janowicz, and Jesse Owens autographed items
if healthy they can put up some runs.... when is their top prospect Catcher gonna get the call??

Money's the only reason he's not playing right now.

<< <i>four in a row and counting......man, two days in a row losing in the last inning....where is Doug Jones when you need him!!! >>
I'd settle for Ernie Camacho right about now...
<< <i>I live near Cleveland and I'm an Indians fan, but who are we kidding, they suck. Until they learn to quit trading away every good player they get, they will continue to suck. They look at talent the same way a card dealer looks at hot rookie cards, "How much can I get for this?" >>
'Tis the burden of being a small market club. Trading away vets that you cannot resign for young talent is the only way to stay competitive, even if it means some lean years. Look at it this way...no way were they resigning Sabathia, so they traded him for a talented young player (LaPorta) who should be the 1B for some time and a starting OF in Brantley. Lee and V-Mart were both gone after this season, so they traded them when their value was maximized (with another year on their respective contracts). Even with Lee and Victor, this team wasn't going to be competitive. But, now after those three deals, they went from having a fairly bad farm system, to one of the top-5 in baseball according to Baseball America. It's the same plan they followed in the early nineties and the beginning of the 2000's. With Shapiro stepping down after this season, I look for a renewed interest in the draft (an area that was never Shapiro's strong suit).
<< <i>Today's Cleveland Plain Dealer noted that Kerry Woods is due back soon...maybe that will help fix the bullpen mess. So far the starting pitching hasn[t been all that bad other than the opener in Chicago.....still got to keep the faith. al. >>

Yeah but at the end of the day, they suck, and have sucked for 15 years. So whatever they are doing doesn't work and makes fans hate them. Maybe it's baseball's severe inbalanced system that forces them to do it, but it blows either way. I won't pay money to see a great farm team. They're just breeding strong healthy cattle to sell at the next farmers auction. I'll take the NFL. A bad team can be competitive in 2 years, not 20. Baseball is a joke.

<< <i>Marson's AVE wouldn't look so bad if he were playing solid defense. He is NOT playing solid defense! >>
agee, where is Joe Azcue when you need him!!
<< <i>if your a Tribe fan this is probably the high point of the season; better record than the red sox! lol. I kind hope the twins go all the way this year! >>
This is (mostly) a very young team, so accordingly, I expect a lot of ups and downs. That said, the difference in the dugout is already very noticeable. Eric Wedge was a baboon. If he was managing this team, I can assure you they'd be 3-9. Acta is much better at managing his pitching staff as evidenced by letting his hot starters complete the last couple games instead of going to a shoddy BP.
fully expect a 90 loss season, I just want to see progress from the youngsters...and I cannot wait for Carlos Sanatana to get to the big club. Still cannot believe we got him for Casey Blake.
i'm a firm believer that the teams that win in September/October are the teams which somehow manage to stay healthy for most of the season. if the Indians hadn't been hit very, very hard with injuries to key players for most of 2008-2009 they'd still have a solid group of veterans and Wedge would be in the dugout.
<< <i>Yeah you are lucky Gardy gave Mauer the day off. We start a rookie catcher and get smoked! >>
yep, that is probably the only reason the Twins lost
