I made it to the show yesterday (before I had to leave town ). Finally got to meet Charmy in person, talk copper, and see all the great coins she has for sale. Picked up an awesome 1886 Type 1 Indian in PCGS AU58 (I’ll try to post a pic soon). THANKS Charmy! And I can’t get that 1851 large cent out of my mind… one of the most beautiful pieces of copper I have ever seen in hand, and definitely the nicest large cent I’ve ever seen in hand.
I was at the show Friday from 9 AM until 2 PM. As usual, many dealers did not bother to set up from 8 AM until about 11 AM. At noon, open time for the public, the place filled up fast, lots of people bumping going down the aisles.
Did not see a single PCGS SecurityPlus holder. The dealers I spoke with about the new PCGS SecurityPlus mostly did not have a clue what it was. It seemed most dealers wanted to carry only raw coins. Big surprise!
Going back to Portland at 2 PM Friday, Tacoma area was stop and go, and even little Chehalis was stop and go. Took me over half an hour. My travel time Portland to Tukwila was 50 minutes less. Saw no accidents, but lots of flashing lights.
Saw Penny Lady, most pleasant, as usual. QuarterNut hobbled around with his right foot in a boot.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
