Question about shipping coins abroad

I need to ship a clump of shipwreck recovered coins to the UK (London, specifically). The weight of the item itself is about 2.5 lbs, and once fully packaged, will probably be close to about 5 lbs. The value is about $4500. I have absolutely no clue what the best way to ship this item is. Can anyone help or have experience with shipping coins in this price range abroad?

I would think a call to the local FedEx would be in order.

I think USPS has a Global Express service, but I've never used it.

I use it all the time, but it doesn't insure higher than about $1500 for international shipments.

I've considered it. My experience though is that they often don't accept coin shipments abroad. I may ultimately use FedEx anyway though, and just bend the wording ("collector tokens" is something I've often used).
