card store closing in Southern California

Memory Lane Sports (no relation to the auction house Memory Lane) is closing after over 2 decades in business as a retail store - and they were show dealers even before that. [For those with long memories in the hobby, they were the dealership victimized by a $100K theft at the 1991 National when entire showcases were stolen by someone who got into the hall after hours.]

If you're within driving distance of Manhattan Beach, CA, check them out. They're located at 1415 Sepulveda Blvd., a block north of Manhattan Beach Blvd.

They specialize in display pieces - especially framed signed photos, lithos, jerseys, etc.

Prices are being drastically slashed for the closing, with much of the store being discounted 50% or more.

let me add that Larry & Sally Levine are two of the most special people you could ever hope to know and they have been true survivors in this business.....i have been partnered up with them for most of these 20 years and i still recall the day in June, 1994 when the first store opened in a Manhattan Beach shopping mall amidst the imposing dark clouds of a professional baseball strike and a professional hockey lockout.....i also recall the looks on their faces on that day in Anaheim when i approached the tables i had helped set up the night before and saw them emptied.....i was partially responsible for helping to acquire some of the many incredible cards which disappeared.....so now put 2 and 2 together and consider just how amazing it is that they managed to keep this going as long as they have.

time for another transition in life, i think they'll be ok.....they've made a lot of people very happy over the years. image
