Jimmy Clausen affected by McNabb deal?

From a blog:

On the night of Easter Sunday, the NFL offseason was hit with the biggest blockbuster of the year: Donovan McNabb was dealt to the Washington Redskins.

The talks between both teams reportedly didn't begin until over the weekend, amid rumors of the Oakland Raiders becoming the leading candidate.

Heading into the weekend, the Washington Redskins visited with prospect Jimmy Clausen, who had a workout scheduled with the team next week.

Though you cannot rule out the Redskins still selecting a quarterback, it is highly doubtful one will be taken fourth overall, especially with the need on the offensive line.

This trade dramatically affects Clausen, who was looking at a possible top-five selection, but now looks at a top-10 pick at best.

The options for Clausen? Currently it is the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills, whom he scheduled visits with last week.

The Browns signed Jake Delhomme to a two-year deal, signalling a quarterback will be drafted and groomed properly under new management.

It is also clear the Bills have a desperate need for a quarterback. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Trent Edwards are not the future of the franchise, which may lead to a change.

However, this was the last thing Clausen could have been hoping for, as it is possible he might see his stock drop to a great extent.

The Browns have shown with the number of draft picks they have, they are willing to take one in the later rounds.

Texas quarterback Colt McCoy comes to mind. Also, with safety Eric Berry or Earl Thomas on the board, the Browns may go in that direction.

The Buffalo Bills also have major issues on the offensive line, which to them may be the biggest need to fill.

If Clausen falls past the ninth overall pick, it is unknown where he would land.

Would the Seattle Seahawks select Clausen at pick 14? A new franchise quarterback is needed in Seattle, as Hasselbeck is warming out his welcome.

Could the Carolina Panthers find a way to trade back into the first round, trading next year's first round pick perhaps?

Clausen could face a similar slide like Brady Quinn and Aaron Rodgers faced a few years ago.

Passed pick number 20, the Arizona Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings could use a young quarterback.

Though Matt Leinart is the starter in Arizona right now, don't be surprised to see the Cardinals trade up for Clausen if available.

The Vikings are also in the same case, especially with Favre not having a long future even if he returns.

If you think about it, the Donovan McNabb trade can really change the outcome of this draft.

Most importantly, it could affect Clausen, who may see himself lose millions of dollars as he waits patiently in Radio City Music Hall in New York.

When did you start ripping off people's work and putting it other places without any proper credit? Are you related to markj111?

Didn't claim it was my own, I said it was from a blog. Sometimes I'm just too lazy to give proper credit.

I shall strive in the future to do a better job in giving credit where credit is due.
